Photography – The World Press Photo Foundation is a global platform connecting professionals and audiences through trustworthy visual journalism and storytelling, founded in 1955 when a group of Dutch photographers organized a contest to expose their work to an international audience. Since then, the contest has grown into the world’s most prestigious photography competition. Through this gathering of photographers, they are able to present, to millions of people, stories which matter.

The World Press Photo is coming to Montreal to present until September 30th 2018 at the Bonsecours Market in Old Montreal. The event will be presenting the winning photos of this annual contest, considered as the Oscars of photo-journalism. The winners were chosen by an independent jury that reviewed more than 73,000 photographs entered by 4,548 photographers from 125 countries. Ticket prices range from $14.00 for regular tickets, $11.00 for student and 65 years + and 12 years under are free of charge.
