1. Go to the beach
Michigan’s beaches attract vacationers from all over the country. For example, Mackinac Island is the perfect place to relax with your friends and family. There are plenty of beautiful Michigan beaches where you can spend the day, so it’s easy to find one that’s perfect for you. If you want a little more excitement during your beach day, take a trip to Traverse City and enjoy some water sports like windsurfing and volleyball!
2. Visit the Great Lakes
The Great Lakes, Michigan’s biggest treasure. They’re a great place to visit if you want to go for a long walk or take part in any of the many activities that happen around them like fishing and boating. They’re also the perfect location for a picnic with your friends or family. If you decide to spend time around them, make sure not to throw anything in! For example, it’s illegal to pollute the Great Lakes and there are heavy fines if you’re caught doing it. If you want to, you can also look into enrolling in one of the many sailing classes offered through different organizations.
3. Visit the state parks
Michigan has some of the best state parks in the country. In fact, most of them are even ranked as being nationally important! Whether you want to hike through a state park or visit a certain location so you can enjoy some water sports, there’s definitely going to be a park near you that will fit your needs. In the state parks, you can also look into staying in a state park cabin or yurt. Michigan has 29 different state parks – so if you love hiking, there are plenty of places to explore. For example, Mount Arvon is the highest point in the entire state!
4. Go to a festival
Michigan is full of festivals, so you’ll never get bored of choosing which ones to attend. For example, the Traverse City Film Festival is a great place to see some new movies and enjoy some of Michigan’s delicious food in July. If your family enjoys taking in a local art show, there are plenty all over Detroit during the summer!
The Michigan State Fair is one of the biggest and most exciting things that you can go to in Michigan. Held in Detroit, there’s always games, rides and different kinds of food available to anyone who wants to attend. There are also many famil-yfriendly events that take place during the fair, so it’s great for people who are looking to let their kids enjoy some of the things Michigan has to offer.
5. Go to Mackinac Island
Mackinac Island is a beautiful place located right on the shore of Lake Huron. There are tons of things for you to do there, like going kayaking or biking around the island. Mackinac island is also well known for hosting many exciting festivals, so you’ll never be bored. There, you can also take in some great local cuisine! Mackinac island is a great place to spend any of your summer vacations.
6. Go to the art fair
The annual Detroit art fair is one of the biggest art shows to hit Michigan in the summer. If you’re interested in local craftsmanship and work, make sure not to miss this! You’ll be able to see many different kinds of pieces created by artists from all over metro Detroit. There are also plenty of delicious food vendors available, so you can look into trying some of Michigan’s famous food while you’re there. Art fairs are great for people who love being able to look at the different works of art that people have created in a certain area.
