MONTREAL, May 26, 2026 —For the first time, the Théâtre Desjardins is hosting a benefit event — Le Grand Variété — on June 4 to support its mission and the development of cultural initiatives accessible to the public.
Starting at 8 p.m., the stage at the Jean-Grimaldi Hall will be transformed for a festive and unforgettable evening celebrating its 30th anniversary. With Francine Grimaldi serving as honorary chair, Dominick Trudeau as artistic director, and Rémy Malo as musical director, Jean-François Breau will host this exclusive event. The lineup features a variety of artists from the worlds of music, theater, circus, and entertainment, including Isabelle Boulay, Marie-Elaine Thibert, Marc-André Fortin, Michel Dorion, and many others. After the show, to extend the experience in a warm and intimate setting, the Théâtre Desjardins will offer a drink in the lobby.
For over a year now, Théâtre Desjardins has been developing partnerships with various social and community organizations to offer people who may be disconnected from the arts the opportunity to experience moments of discovery, respite, and togetherness at the theater through an eclectic program that is accessible to a wide range of audiences.
Through its ticket donation program, Théâtre Desjardins is proud to be a Gold Partner of the Regroupement des aidants naturels du Montréal métropolitain (RAANM) to provide caregivers with opportunities for cultural respite. The Théâtre Desjardins also collaborates with the Centre social d’aide aux immigrants (CSAI) to help immigrants discover Quebec culture through the performing arts.On May 6, the theater was awarded the 2026 Community Engagement Award by the Club des Personnes Handicapées du Lac Saint-Louis.
Until June 1, for every ticket purchased for Le Grand Variété at a price of $100 (tax receipt for $50), one ticket will be given to a person from one of the partner organizations.
