Montreal Taco Festival 2018 – Montreal, get ready for the best taco experience of your life! El Mercado del Taco is Montreal’s first ever Taco Festival, it will be held on Sunday, September 9th from 12 PM- 9PM at L’Ambroisie et L’Espace Canal (4020, rue Saint-Ambroise, porte #140 Montreal, Quebec H4C 2C7) .
El Mercado del Taco celebrates Mexican food and culture from around the city. The festival will exhibit International and local chefs and vendors. Guests of honour, Chef Herrera and Chef Juan Emilio Villaseñor will be flying in from Mexico to showcase their award winning cooking skills. As well as 2014 Top Chef Canada Winner, Chef Rene Rodriguez from Ottawa will be cooking up a Mexican storm. Montreal staples such as: Emiliano’s, Mandy’s, El Rey del Taco, Tacos Victor, Mi Ranchito, Burrito Borracho, Grumman’78, Caifan, Tacos Monkland, La Taqueria, Smoke Show, La Mexicoise, Mr Azteca and Mezcaleros will be serving up their best tacos, providing guests with a truly mouthwatering experience.
Traditional Mexican luchador enmascarados (professional wrestlers) will be joining the festivities! Psicosis Nicho el Millonario” and Argenis (both based in Mexico) and The Green Phantom and SpeedBall Mike Bailey (from Montreal’s Wrestling Federation) will put on the most entertaining fight in Montreal’s history, right in the heart of the festival grounds.
Guests will be eating the city’s best tacos and sipping on speciality drinks to the beats of The Lyonz, a duo based in Montreal and special guest DJ, Jojo Flores. Flores has achieved global reach, he is one of the most respected DJs in the industry.
Best Taco of 2018 Award: Throughout the day, guests will be able to vote for their favourite taco at assigned voting stations on site. The Best Montreal Taco of 2018 will be announced 48 hours after the festival on El Mercado del Taco’s social media pages. The question is, which restaurant has the best taco?
And finally, with the purchase of an entrance ticket, guest will automatically be entered to win a round-trip vacation (3 nights) in the beautiful city of Mexico. The winners will stay in the chic neighbourhood of Condesa.
