PIKNIC Electronic Montreal 2018 – Perfect liftoff for Piknic Électronik’s 16th season! Piknickers gathered by the thousands to celebrate the grand opening and reunite with their favourite patches of greenery and favourite spots on the dance floor at Parc Jean-Drapeau’s Plaine des Jeux. Summer is officially in session and the party’s just starting. Here’s an overview of what’s coming in June. Get ready for a wild month!
Piknic #5 (June 10th)
It’s a Belgian invasion at the Solotech stage, as we welcome highly anticipated superstar Amelie Lens in the headline spot. Ahead of this thunderous finale, we’ll hear her countryman Farrago‘s elegant take on techno, and our own Laura Scavo‘s dynamic beats. Local lights Bolting Bits will present the Moog Audio stage, where England’s Seb Wildblood will explore the deeper side of electronic music. Opening the day, Montreal’s Silktits, followed by Toronto’s Roberto, will provide chillness, funk and a mix of percussive rhythms and atmospheric rollers.

Piknic #6 (June 17th)
Get ready for an absolutely titanic birthday party, as we celebrate 30 years of Paris’ Rex Club at the Solotech stage. This explosive program will feature Louisahhh B2B Maelstrom (FR-US), Traumer (FR) and formidable Rex Club resident Molly (FR) in the grand finale! Montreal’s Honeydrip will open the Moog Audio stage with some sun-kissed house music, before passing the baton to Serbia’s master chef X-Coast: an absolute character who’ll hit us with a heavy dose of 90’s rave nostalgia.

Piknic #7 (June 24th)
It’s a St-Jean special at Piknic, and we’re celebrating with an all-local lineup across both stages, highlighting Quebec’s incredibly diverse range of talent. CRi will headline the Solotech stage with a live set full of twists and turns. Also on the menu: Ryan Playground‘s range of bass music and Clarian‘s hypnotic mix of styles. At the Moog Audio stage, the day starts off with Apportez Votre Vin before Coach Vic takes over to lead us down a soulful path. Finally, the one and only Tommy Kruise will get things crunk as only he can, delivering all the Hip Hop, Trap and House music you can shake a leg to.

A special OFF-PIKNIC event on Saturday June 30th
Music lovers will be able to dance until the very last night of June, with another OFF-PIKNIC special event: Anjunadeep Open Air: Montreal. A true authority in deep sounds, the British Anjunadeep label is renowned for such special events presented in exterior locations of exceptional character. This popular tour’s stop at la Plaine des Jeux is presented in collaboration with îleSoniq and I Love Neon.
There’s something for everybody this June at Piknic Électronik. We’ll handle the music and the vibe, you just need to fill up a picnic basket and bring your friends. See you on the dance floor!
