hugging-fingers-valentines-day

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and a lot of us are still planning the perfect date for our partner. If you are looking for great foodie date ideas, we’ve got an interesting list of choices for you. So, where to eat on Valentine’s day in Montreal?

La Chronique

One of Montreal “foodie’s favourite” , restaurant La Chronique, is offering a one-day only special menu on February 14th. For 175$ per person, enjoy an extravagant 7-course tasting menu where : foie gras, lobster, caviar, wagyu beef and other refined delicacies will be featured. The charming neighbourhood restaurant of Le Plateau Mont-Royal is owned and operated by chefs Marc De Canck and Olivier de Montigny. And, at their establishment, delights of the table come first… since 1995.

Roseline

Located a few steps from La Chronique, this newcomer in Le Plateau, Roseline, is already a hit. It’s also a very good. If you are in the mood for small bites and wines by the glass, this recent coffee shop by day/wine bar by night offers a sexy and intimate ambiance, candle lights, dimmed light, couches, small plates to share and an interesting wine list. Perfect for a simple but not-so-casual Valentine’s date.

Zibo

From February 13 to 16, for Valentine’s Day, the fun and festive restaurants ZIBO! offers a tasty table d’hôte menu to share at only $43 per person. The menu has been designed for friends or couples that want to share a simple yet fun meal. Expect a massive surf and turf platter with salads and grilled vegetables to share, complete with desserts of course. ZIBO! has 8 locations across Quebec and a friendly and casual ambiance. Perfect for a fun and casual Valentine’s date.

Melisse

The beloved restaurant Melisse that loves featuring seasonal products and vegetables in their dishes created a special 4-course menu for Valentines Day that will be offered on February 12-13 and 14th. At 72$ per person, lovers and friends can share appetizers then enjoy a pasta dish, a fish and a dessert service to share. Melisse served farm-to-table menu in a airy and inspiring decor : a great opportunity to rediscover this impeccable Old Montreal establishment.

Bazarette

BAZARETTE is a new refined wine bar in downtown Montreal where you can enjoy delicious small plates and an amazing wine-by-the-glass list in a vibrant atmosphere, just steps from the Bell Center. There, the wine list consists of private imports coming almost entirely from reasoned, organic or natural agriculture. Festive wines and tasty small plates to share on Valentine’s Day with your loved one, the perfect plan!

Marcus

La crème de la crop, Marcus, the splendid restaurant of the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal, is a definite yes for Valentine’s Day. In addition to being the newest downtown hot spot, we eat extremely well at Marcus and the decor is an absolute showstopper. The chef, Marcus Samuelsson, originally from Brooklyn, was the youngest person to ever receive a three-star review from The New York Times. If you want to celebrate in style and without sparing any expenses, you should definitely choose Marcus at the Four Seasons for Valentine’s Day. Because, it is a restaurant of great occasion… and love, is, well, a great occasion indeed.

tbsp

W Hotel Montreal has been going through a lot of changes these past years : redesigned rooms, design open-air lobby, a new dark and sexy lobby bar and a signature restaurant that (in our opinion) finally fits the concept and ambiance of the W Brand. Tbsp (for tablespoon) offers a trendy decor by sidlee architecture and a market-fresh-with-an-Italian-twist menu by chef Joris Larigaldie. For Valentine’s Day, experience a special 3-course, 3-sharing dishes menu at 65$ per person (90$ with the wine pairing). The chef had this idea while creating a dish only composed of 3 ingredients, he then declined that dish into 3 sharing plates. 3 x 3 = 9 dishes to enjoy with your love one on VDay!
