Just For Laughs new show will be with Lebanese-American comic NEMR on January 15, 2022 at Club Soda. Born in San Diego and moved back with his family to Lebanon, NEMR has performed his stand-up comedy in English throughout the Middle East, where he has received great acclaim for breaking down barriers and uniting people with his comedy in this troubled region. His triumphant first world tour was recorded for his hit Showtime comedy special “No Bombing in Beirut”, and his second special “Love Isn’t the Answer” has recently been released on his website www.nemrcomedy.com.

And in other Just For Laughs-related news, the festival recently announced that they are partnering up with the Moontower Comedy Festival — which was established in 2011 and is based in Austin, Texas — to present a new comedy festival called Moontower Just For Laughs Austin, which is set to launch in April of 2022.
As a result of this brand new partnership, Moontower Just For Laughs Austin will be adding more venues than usual for the inaugural edition, expand the run of the festival from four days to 10 days, and will present more specialty programming. And of course, the city of Austin is no stranger to hosting artistic and cultural festivals; it’s already known as the home of such renowned festivals as SXSW, the Grand Prix and the Austin City Limits Festival.
Bruce Hills, Just For Laughs’ President, had this to say about this new comedy collaboration: “Pairing Just For Laughs’ international success with Moontower’s devoted fans and attendees, we have a great foundation to build something extraordinary. We are so excited to grow this event and see what Moontower Just For Laughs Austin has in store for next Spring.”
In turn, Moontower’s co-founder and director Lietza Brass stated that Just For Laughs was the main inspiration for the Moontower Comedy Festival during its early years of development. “We are beyond excited to partner with Just For Laughs because we know that, with our comedic powers combined, we are building something very special and enduring for Austin.”
