Imagine four professional young women getting ready for a girls’ night out, and stop at a hotel bar for a pre-night out cocktail. During this female bonding type of chat over drinks, they decide to start an impromptu conversation based on questions that are written on slips of paper, placed in a bowl and the ladies randomly choose a question in that bowl, unaware of what kind of question or subject matter that is written on that piece of paper. The end result would be a lively, opinionated, animated conversation.
That’s the premise of “Sister Talk”, a talk show that just kicked off its second season on August 1, in which the 10-episode series (running 20 minutes per episode) can be seen every week on YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/sistertalktalkshow ) and as of September will also air on YA Media (https://yamediatv.com) , a streaming network that airs a number of TV shows that attract an average audience of 40,000 viewers per show.

“This is the show’s first time being associated with YA Media, and we’re glad about it. It’s a good collaboration for us,” said Cherizar Walker, one of the members of the Sister Talk cast, who is a native of Los Angeles, and works in Montreal as an engineer. “They have a huge reach (300,000 viewers on Instagram) and produce a slew of TV shows that feature a number of notable Montrealers and promotes a diverse mix of people.”

Having a new media carrier was not the only change that “Sister Talk” experienced for season 2. The show found a new home by turning the penthouse at the Méridien Versailles hotel into their new set. Besides the set, there was also a bit of a makeover with the cast. Producer and cast member, Cindy Charles decided to add two new hosts.
First, an announcement about the casting call was advertised on the show’s website, which asked applicants to submit information about themselves, plus a video. However, they didn’t expect the overwhelming response from that casting call announcement.
“We didn’t realize how popular the show was with our peers and within the community. Cindy watched every applicant video and had to narrow it down to 10 candidates. Anne and me also watched the videos of the 10 chosen applicants. And based on what we viewed, we had to narrow down the choice even further to the final four candidates,” she said. Ms. Charles also took into consideration the overwhelming social media feedback from the applicants’ followers.
“To us, the ideal candidate had to have the ability to talk about anything,” she said. “She must feel comfortable being on camera, and appear authentic and real.”
The final four candidates really did a fine job engaging the interviewers; however, the toughest part of the process was to choose just one person, because two of the final four left a very strong impression. So instead of taking one and leaving out the other, the following two candidates were selected to be part of the show: Tammy Tuesdayz, a singer, songwriter and brand ambassador; and Tiffany Thompson, a Montreal entrepreneur and storyteller with a background in media, marketing and commercial real estate. Tammy appears in all 10 episodes, and Tiffany filled in halfway through the season for Cindy who was pregnant at the time.
The more senior hosts welcomes the addition of Tammy and Tiffany to the Sister Talk cast. These two new cast members bring their own unique point of view and characteristics to the growth of the show.
Tammy is a singer, songwriter and a brand ambassador who uses her voice to advocate for women, the LGBTQ community and mental health awareness. She’s outspoken, funny and has strong convictions which makes her a perfect fit with the rest of the opinionated ladies.
Tiffany is an entrepreneur with a passion for storytelling. She has experience with several media outlets such as The Vocalist Magazine, MTL Blurb, What’s Up Montreal and her own show called The Mavens on Bell Media. As a dreamers, storyteller and strong communicator, she brings a breath of fresh air to the show.
While the second season of Sister Talk is now underway, the show is also conducting a sponsorship campaign, in which the show can aid potential sponsors to bring visibility to their brand or awareness to a specific cause. Sponsors will be mentioned in the credits of the show and tagged in all social media posts.
The Sister Talk team plans to wrap up season 2 in October with a season finale red carpet event that will also include a live version of the show. So get ready for the ultimate girls’ night out with Sister Talk.
