Hendrick’s Gin soars to new heights at Montreal Jazz Festival

The wondrously whimsical Hendrick’s Gin E.L.E.V.A.T.U.M. will reappear in downtown Montreal this Summer, inviting the Curious to foray into the wonderfully unusual world of Hendrick’s Gin.

Oyez, Oyez, Oyez! On the 27th and 28th of June in the year 2019, Hendrick’s Gin returns to the streets and skies of Montreal to delight with its two-day ocular and auditory spectacle at the world’s largest jazz festival for a second year in a row.

Returning to the 40th edition of the world-famous festival, E.L.E.V.A.T.U.M. (Elevating, Levitating, Exceptionally, Voluminous, Amazingly, Towering, Uplifting, Mobile), the 65-foot hot air balloon (oddly decorated with cucumbers and roses) will whisk lucky Golden Ticket winners 44 ¼ cucumbers high into the Montreal sky.

Hendrick’s Gin prides itself in curating delightfully peculiar experiences and the return of E.L.E.V.A.T.U.M. is no exception, comments Jessica Mieczkowska, Canadian Brand Manager, Hendrick’s Gin.  We are thrilled to be back for our second year in a row at the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal and look forward to enchanting over 2.5 million guests who come out to enjoy The Festival each year with Hendrick’s Gin.

Fashioned to fascinate, the one-of-a-kind, cucumbers for keys, jazz C.O.R.G.A.N. shall also return once again to provide the score to this astounding display of delight.

The C.O.R.G.A.N. (Cucumber Organ of Remarkably Glorious Auditory Nirvana), features real, whole cucumbers that generate sound in lieu of traditional keys on an organ.  The real cucumbers are changed daily to ensure optimum harmony and the freshest of sound during the whimsical wonder of E.L.E.V.A.T.U.M.  Notable musicians can be found playing the C.O.R.G.A.N. in the Hendrick’s Gin Air Departure Lounge each evening.

The surprise and delight shall not end there! For the first time in Canadian history, Hendrick’s Gin will provide V.I.P. Golden Ticket guests the rare opportunity to peek into the Hendrick’s Gin Cabinet of Curiosities for a sampling of their first-ever, limited edition, most unusual innovation, Midsummer Solstice. Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice is a deeply floral gin inspired by the eternal mystery of nature’s most vivid blooms on the Midsummer solstice, and will be releasing in Canada before Winter solstice in 2019.

Hendrick’s portal of peculiarity at the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal will be enchanting for the eyes, ears and taste buds, comments Alvin P. Ramchurn, National Brand Ambassador, Hendrick’s Gin. We look forward to elevating festival goers’ experience with our ocular and auditory spectacle in true Hendrick’s Gin fashion.

While flights are limited to the lucky few Golden Ticket holders, all guests of the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal are welcome to visit the Hendrick’s Gin Air Departure Lounge featuring live music, entertainment, jazz and gin sampling.  Last year’s tent hosted over 3,500 guests and was revered as one of the festival’s key highlights.

The Hendrick’s E.L.E.VA.T.U.M. and C.O.R.G.A.N. will be tethered in downtown Montreal during the 2019 Festival International de Jazz de Montreal on Thursday, June 27th and Friday, June 28th, 2019.  Flights will take place in the evenings from 6:00 p.m. to midnight (based on wind patterns) and all guests bearing a Golden Ticket will have the opportunity to ride.  Golden Tickets for E.L.E.V.A.T.U.M are limited and available via an online local contest (for residents of Quebec from May 16th to June 16th) as well as onsite at the Hendrick’s Gin Air Departure Lounge on Thursday, June 27th and Friday, June 28th, 2019.  No purchase is necessary and entrants must be of legal drinking age in Quebec.
