The tell tale signs you’re ready for marriage

What is your idea of happiness? For a lot of people, it’s having a happy family with someone you care about.

Getting married is one of the biggest commitments you are likely to make in your life. But even if you think you’ve met the love of your life how can you ever be sure you are ready? How can you make sure reality lives up to the dream?

There are many ways to find out. Here’s ‘am I ready to get married?’ and when to get married.

1. You Are Financially Ready

You cannot get married if you cannot afford it. This is the biggest part of getting ready for marriage. If you are in debt be sure to clear these debts before the big day.

If you have several thousand dollars saved up and are considering spending this on a wedding but still live at home then you might want to consider a slimmed-down wedding so you can put down a deposit for a house or to furnish the house.

2. You Know They Are the One

This is a difficult one. Some people know the person they are going to marry from the moment they set eyes upon them. Queen Elizabeth II first met Prince Phillip when she was 13 and fell for him straight away: they’ve recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary.

With other relationships it takes time. Even when you are in love with someone they might not be a suitable partner for the rest of your life.

As the relationship goes on you might realize they have traits that you would find difficult to live with: perhaps they are really bad with money, spend it and get themselves into debt without you knowing. Or perhaps they are messy and you are a clean freak.

But if you can get past these and compromise then you know they are the one and it’s time to get married.

Be sure to try living with them full-time first. If you get along then it might be time to purchase rose gold round cut engagement ringsfor each other.

3. Your Interests Are the Same

Although you both might love each other you have to ask yourself if this is the right time for both of you to get married? Perhaps both of you are at different stages of your life.

Some people are ready to settle down with a family very early on, others want to travel the world and some want to focus on a career. You need to make sure you are on the same page about what you want from life.

Be sure to have an honest conversation with each other about what you want before you decide to get married. If you are both looking for a settled life with each other or you both want to start a family now is the time to go for it.

Am I Ready to Get Married? Only You Know the Answer

When considering when to get married and who am I going to marry it’s important to remember that only you have the answer to this question. This is because its such a personal choice.

You should always listen to what your partner wants and to be considerate of their needs but you also need to listen to yourself. If you find yourself dreaming about getting married, know that you can afford it and have worked through all of your problems then you know the answer to am I ready to get married? The answer is: yes.
