3 Amigos – Three friends from Montreal visited Mexico, and liked what they saw during their trip south of the border – a location that has a fun party ambience to it, along with fresh home-made tacos and fajitas, not to mention delicious, refreshing margaritas.

With that in mind, the trio decided to recreate what they experienced in Mexico in the form of a restaurant. And since the first 3 Amigos restaurant was opened on St. Catherine Street West in the downtown core in 1998, it has fulfilled that vision, and became an ideal destination for friends, families and co-workers to party, celebrate a birthday or just to share some cocktails.
3 Amigos has gone west. On March 16, a West Island branch of the popular Mexican food restaurant opened its doors at 50-A Brunswick Boulevard, at the Sources Mega Centre in Pointe Claire.

“Since our concept is based on bringing a vacation vibe close to our customers, branching out and offering locations that are even closer to our faithful clientele is the way to go,” said Catherine Woron, a spokesperson for the restaurant chain. “We carefully select our locations, and due to popular demand and an overwhelming amount of West Islanders in our other locations, it made sense to bring the fiesta even closer to their neighbourhood.”
It’s a fact that Mexican restaurants have seen an epic rise since the 90s and have become one of the most enjoyed global cuisines in the world. For most of us, Mexico represents the ultimate vacation spot, with its hot, sunny weather, its many beaches, its salsa, its tequila and its general feel of living life to the fullest.
And what has made 3 Amigos such a household name to many Montreal restaurant goers and Mexican food enthusiasts is their guarantee that when a customer goes to the restaurant, they’ll be treated to deliciously fresh food in a friendly and lively atmosphere. “We are very good at recreating the Mexican restaurant atmosphere. From the moment you step into one of our restaurants, you’re living out the most amazing fiesta vibe without ever leaving home,” said Ms. Woron.
Another reason why 3 Amigos is such a popular dining establishment is that each of their locations are customized and made to evoke a specific aspect of Mexican culture. They’re unique, and each has to be experienced for itself.
And just because you’ve been to one 3 Amigos, doesn’t mean you know what you’re in for when you visit the others. For its West Island branch, 3 Amigos has taken the inspiration from the rich colour-contrasts and dark wood palettes of Southern Mexico with a resolutely modern approach. The new locale features a large-scale mural and thematic objects in-line with the latest look-and-feel of cool Tulum hot-spots. And since their Margaritas are reasons in themselves to come visit the restaurant, they made sure to feature a beautiful central bar area showcasing their bartenders working their wonders.
As well, 3 Amigos’ menu, which is always open to new recipes, has relied on Modern Mexican specialties that the restaurants’ regulars know and love. They have a full range of different tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, enchiladas, shrimp, chicken and pasta dishes.

However, what’s most important is that they pride themselves on the freshness of their ingredients, so no matter what your preference is, everyone at 3 Amigos want you to come away with the feeling that you’re enjoying a meal at a Mexican resort. Their always-Instagrammable cocktails has now become a reason in itself for visiting. With a full range of Margaritas, Daiquiris and Piña Coladas as well as other specialties (such as their Mojitos) 3 Amigos has got everything you need to take you on an amazing tropical getaway.
