Nominated for five Outstanding Casting awards at the upcoming Society of Voice Arts and Sciences’ prestigious Voice Arts® Awards Gala, respected Montreal casting director Helène Rousse is heading to Los Angeles for the celebrity-attended November 17 ceremony at Warner Bros. Studios. Founder of Total Casting, Rousse’ nominations include Salma’s Big Wish (DÃa de Muertos) and Mission Kathmandu: The adventures of Nelly & Simon (Feature Film Animation), and Overwatch (TV Animation & Games). She is honoured to be competing in the same category as blockbusters How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Toy Story 4.
The Voice Arts® Awards is a global competition celebrating some of the world’s most brilliant media where the voice is a key creative element. For Rousse, the nominations are coming at the height of her career, I am casting and recording more and more animated shows as well as videogames from around the world. I enjoy working on many different projects; each challenge of finding the star voice or the perfect talent for a given movie still gives me a thrill. And I adore being in LA with my peers and gifted voice actors.
Along with running a busy casting agency, the ever-on-the-go Rousse is a published author and is also working on a master-class acting book and video for 2020, a YouTube casting vlog, and a celebratory event for the 20th anniversary of Total Casting. I have always worked in this field and love my job; I am grateful to be the entrepreneur I always wanted to be. Being active is my passion. Creative by nature, she is also working on an invention.
