It went down to the wire in the last game with Tyler Toffoli putting the winning goal in overtime at 1:39. The final score was 3-2 as the Montreal Canadiens swept the Winnipeg Jets in four straight games.
After the game Tyler Toffoli said, “It kind of feels like nobody believes in us. The only people we have are ourselves and our fans and our friends and family.”

Quebec born Montreal Canadiens centre Philip Danault said, “I’ve been dreaming about bringing it (Stanley Cup) back to Montreal one day and this is our chance.”
Montreal Canadiens captain Shea Weber said in a post media interview, “There’s not one moment that we doubted our team. Things were hard and teams go through difficult times. This is an especially tough year on a lot of teams.”
