Montrealer celebrates and took to the street this past Monday as the Montreal Canadiens beat the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Canadiens were down 3 to 1 in games but never gave up as they won the series in game seven last night in Toronto.
Habs fans cheered on the streets of Montreal as the Blue Blanc Rouge won 3 – 1 thanks to Carey Price in nets.
Large crowds gathered outside the Bell Centre in Montreal chanting “Olé! Olé! Olé!
Spring is here and so are the Montreal Canadiens in the playoffs, helping Montreal get spirit once again on the streets. Seeing there is a limit of 2,500 fans allowed at the Bell Centre to watch the game most were on terraces and watching game six and seven on the streets.
Last game Montreal tickets were fetching as high as $12,000 per pair.
Montreal Canadiens will now face the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday for Game one of the North Division Final.
The Canadiens will only have one day of rest before the series starts but was expected due to the late start of the first round that took seven games. Winnipeg has been resting since they defeated Edmonton in four games straight.
Montreal celebrates and moves on to play the Winnipeg Jets this Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
