The Montreal Canadiens announced today that they have hired their 18th General Manager player agent Kent Hughes.
Kent Hughes, 51 years of age, bilingual and a Montreal native was signed Tuesday to the Montreal Canadiens on a five-year deal.
Before joining the Montreal Canadiens Hughes represented over 20 NHL players with contracts such as Patrice Bergeron, Anthony Beauvillier, Darnell Nurse and more.

Hughes replaces Montreal Canadiens General Manager Marc Bergevin, who was fired November 28th, 2021 dues to the worst season the team as ever seen. Bergevin was GM of the Montreal Canadiens for over 10 years.

Owner of the Montreal Canadiens Geoff Molson released a statement saying, “We are very excited to add Kent Hughes to our organization. Kent is highly respected in the hockey world, having build an excellent reputation as an NHL player agent for over 25 years.”
The Montreal Canadiens are expected to hold a press conference with the media Wednesday.
The Montreal Canadiens are in last place of the NHL rankings this season. A shock as they were in the Stanley Cup Finals last season. Montreal Canadiens record this year is 7 wins, 25 loses and 5 ties.
