It will come as no surprise to anyone that the economy in Canada is suffering. Whilst every country will be seeing different effects and different reactions from their own Governments, the truth is that across the board the cost of living is on the rise and that is having an effect on pretty much everything.
The Economy in Canada
Traditionally, Canada has the ninth-largest economy across the globe and in 2020 had a GDP of $1.64 trillion – a massive amount by anyone’s standards. However, the economy is shifting for everyone and there will be some changes happening throughout the rest of 2022 and likely into next year. Canadians will be keen to see what the future of the economy in Canada is likely to look like, but the truth is that no one can be sure what the future holds. What we do know that is July saw a small growth in Canada’s economy (0.1%), which bucked against the trend of a downward turn for most economies. As of the beginning of October, all international travel restrictions that had been put in place as a reaction to COVID have been removed too, which will have many people hoping for a boost in the economy too!
The Future of Canadian Gambling
Despite 2021 being a tricky year for many industries and the whole Canadian economy seeing some negative effects in 2022, one industry that continues to thrive is the online gaming industry. In fact, many brands that offer their customers the facility to visit a casino online have found that 2020 and going into 2021 had some of their best financial results ever. This was triggered by many countries putting lockdown measures in place which meant that traditional gambling venues were forced to close their doors and people were encouraged to stay at home as much as possible. This, of course, drove people to find online entertainment means, of which gambling was a choice for many.
The Future of the Economy
The truth is that no one knows what the future of the economy is going to hold. Throughout the UK and Europe property prices and mortgage opportunities are set to take a dive and many people are waiting to see how currencies fair in the coming months. However, the online entertainment industry shows no signs of slowing down and those involved in the industry will be looking forward to doing what they can to ensure that this growth continues throughout 2023 and beyond.
