We are adjusting to a lifestyle online

Remember those times when it was rude to use your phone during a dinner or something like that? That you were seen to be unsocial if you even touched your phone. Just placing it on the table was provocative actually. By that time it was like everyone thought that if you looked at the screen of a phone then your ears and brain would stop working. Well, we know better now.

We have developed a talent to be able to involve in engaging discussions and at the same time play games like World of Warcraft or blackjack on your phone, or post a picture or comment something on Instagram.

Actually it’s social media that has been contributing to make it okay to use your phone at the same time as socializing.

From no to yes

Things that used to be a big no-no have been totally okay, partly thanks to the development of online jobs. Now there are accepted professional categories that work only online. Influencers, Youtubers and bloggers were gigs that before never existed on professional level. But now it does. More and more people are seeing themselves as brands and that brand need to have a certain type of style. That style has to be exposed online on social media to strengthen and keep it. With that comes a need of showing on daily basis what you do through pictures, videos, Insta-stories, live streaming from restaurant visits is an important part of this.

The personal brand is important for many even if they are not a professional influencer. The way they present themselves on social media will be the way they will be seen by others too. So showing your SPA-visits, your cooking skills, shopping bargain or luxury drinks have become a natural part.

In that spirit it’s become accepted and many times normalized to use phone during a dinner since most people understand that it’s not to be disrespectful but simply to document what you eat and do.

When people live parts of their lives online and more things are being handled there it also means that the security has to be matched too.

Towards better security online

That is why you now see that many websites went from having to register with name, number, address, email and social security number went to switch that for some type of e-ID.

Different countries have come different far in the usage of online identifications. As an example in the north European country Sweden almost everything online is now signed by e-ID. Some examples of that is services of trading e-currencies, online gaming, bank services, shopping and even medical services.

The e-ID can verify who you are online and all your government-generated data will be attached to that your personal e-ID. This system will also reduce the risk of someone to steal and use your personal data for fraud.

Influencers and in fact everyone who uses social medias is taking a risk to get scammed, stalked and things like that. Many celebrities have had their pictures stolen for someone to put up fake accounts to try to scam other people. Also many non-celebrity girls have had their identity stolen and their pictures and names posted on porn or dating sites. But the more security can be strengthened online, the more secure we will all become too.
