Quebecers who travel may be forced to isolate in hotel on return

isolate in hotel on return

Quebec Premier François Legault said that Quebecers who are Quebecers returning home may have to self-quarantine for 14 days in a hotel so the government can insure these travellers are respecting the rules. At the moment travellers returning from southern destinations or abroad are required to self-isolate for 14 days in their own homes.

“It’s not the time, even if it’s allowed, to go south, ” said Premier Legault.

Air Canada flights heading to Florida twice a day seem to be filling up and reports from workers at the Dorval Airport say the airport is seeing more traffic everyday. New gate areas have been opened to accommodate the larger number of passengers so the passengers can maintain social distancing and respect the government guidelines of self-distancing.

The Premier also told all Quebecers to please rethink any travel plans this winter. “It’s time to be responsible,” said Premier Legault. “We see the light at the end of the tunnel. We can make a difference if we stay united.”
