It has been over two years of waiting for this announcement on lifting mandatory mask wearing in Quebec.

The province’s interim director of public health Dr. Luc Boileau announced today the Quebec government will be officially lifting the ban on mask wearing on May 14th, 2022. However masks will still be required in health-care settings and public transit.
Dr. Luc Boileau said, “The whole portrait is getting better.
Elementary and high schools will also be dropping the mandatory mask wearing. Wearing masks will also be optional in school buses seeing that students have spent the whole day together without wearing a mask.
The province’s interim director of public health suggested wearing a mask is still recommended in certain situations such as if you feel ill or have symptoms of COVID-19, YOU should wear a mask.
Quebec is the last province in Canada to drop the mandatory mask wearing, which has been in place for 21 months.
