What to expect at 5 PM’s Quebec’s announcement on curfew and terraces

COVID-19: Quebec

Well it seems the day has come and all Quebecers are waiting patiently on what the Quebec Premier Francois Legault will say at his 5 p.m. news conference.

The Quebec Premier is expected to give out a detailed description on how he plans on reopening the province.

bar restaurant terraces to open

This past Monday Premier Legault stated he had a detailed plan on what will be happening in all our homes and even what will be happening at the Bell Centre for the Stanley Cup Play offs.

According to reports the province wide curfew should be lifted May 28. Terrasses and restaurants should be reopening as well.

The premier has been very clear on how he will be loosening the restriction gradually.

The daily count rate of people infected is dropping as well as the deaths. More than 50% Quebec population of the adult population has received their first vaccine and more than 75% of the entire Quebec population have received one vaccine shot or are scheduled to receive it. Only 250,000 Quebecers ( four percent) have been fully vaccinated.

Canada’s chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tan said, “restrictions can begin to be loosened once 75% of the population has received one dose and 20% has received two.”

In a nutshell, expect Montreal terraces to reopen and curfew to be lifted. Fingers crossed!
