KIRKLAND, August 31, 2026 – The community came together once again in remarkable support of the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence at its 16th Annual Golf Tournament, held at the prestigious Royal Montreal Golf Club. This year’s event raised an incredible net total of $803,000 to help the Residence continue providing compassionate palliative care, free of charge, to patients and their loved ones.
For 16 years, the tournament has brought together golfers, donors, sponsors and community leaders around a shared commitment: ensuring that individuals approaching the end of life can spend their final days in comfort and dignity, surrounded by those they love. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $5.4 million net in support of the Residence’s mission.
“The continued generosity shown through this tournament is a powerful reflection of the compassion within our community,” said Dale Weil, Executive Director of the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence. “Every contribution helps us provide not only exceptional care, but also precious moments of comfort, connection and togetherness for patients and their families during one of life’s most difficult journeys.”
To complement its government funding and continue offering its services at no cost to patients and their loved ones, the Residence must raise more than $5 million annually through fundraising and community support. Signature events such as the Annual Golf Tournament play an essential role in meeting this need.
The day offered a wonderful opportunity for friends and supporters of the Residence to reconnect while enjoying a spirit of camaraderie, generosity and friendly competition. Andrew Carter, host of CJAD’s The Andrew Carter Morning Show and a long-time friend of the Residence, once again served as master of ceremonies.
The Residence extends its heartfelt gratitude to its major sponsors, including The Tenaquip Foundation, The Gustav Levinschi Foundation, Mint Green Group, Birkenstock, Pfizer, The Oka & Grégoire Foundation, The Henri Family Foundation, The Lemessurier Foundation, Fondation Famille L. The event also welcomed several dignitaries and community leaders, including Michel Gibson, Mayor of Kirkland; and John Belvedere, Mayor of Pointe-Claire.
About the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence
The Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence is an independent, non-profit organization that provides services free of charge to patients and their loved ones. Each year, the Residence must raise close to $5 million through community support and fundraising to complement its government subsidy. With 23 beds, it is the largest free-standing palliative care facility in Canada and is recognized as a leader in the field.
