Free access to 17 national parks and wildlife reserves

Access to 17 establishments of the Societe des etablissements de plein air du Quebec (Sepaq) network will be completely free of charge on Saturday, January 26 for the 3rd edition of our Sepaq Winter Day. This event remains a must in January in Quebec given its recipe for success: free admission, a wide array of special activities and entertainment, exceptional territories, and abundant snow.

Quebec’s nature and winter are incomparable riches, for which we’re renowned the world over. Sepaq Winter Day is an ideal opportunity to have fun with friends and family, fill up on fresh air, and realize once more how lucky we are to live in such a vast and beautiful part of the world, declared the Minister of Forests, Wildlife and Parks, Pierre Dufour.

Sepaq establishments have everything you need to fall in love with winter. This day is a celebration of the best that the cold season has to offer. Outdoor activity is synonymous not only with pleasure and relaxation but also with health and healthy habits, stated Sepaq Interim Chief Executive Officer, Guylaine Berthiaume.

The various Sepaq teams have concocted a special schedule, adding to the regular activities to make the event even more festive for the whole family. Access to cross- country ski and snowshoe trails will be free of charge.

Free equipment rental

Depending on the location and availabilities, it will be possible to borrow equipment at no cost and discover different activities, including the ever-popular fatbike. Also on the menu: skating, sliding, hiking, and discovery activities. There’s nothing better to put a smile on your face and add some colour to your cheeks.

Spaces will also be set up to toast marshmallows on an outdoor fire and find warmth and comfort while sipping a tasty hot chocolate.

An invitation to return

In addition, each visitor to any of the 14 participating national parks will be given a pass for a future winter visit to the park of his or her choice. Visitors to Camp

 

Mercier or Station touristique Duchesnay will receive a cross-country skiing day- pass valid at any one of Sepaq’s eight cross country skiing centres. Visitors to Centre touristique du Lac-Simon will receive a daily access pass so they’ll return this winter.
