The opening of the new Pointe Claire Keg raised $10,000.00 for

Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Island

Monday was the much anticipated opening day for the new Keg Steakhouse & Bar at the Fairview Pointe Claire mall. “We are thrilled to be opening our doors,” says General Manager, Kevin Major. “The staff have been training long hours to ensure that the levels of service and food quality are up to the high expectations of our West Island community.”

The new restaurant, located at the corner of Hwy 40 and St-Jean Boulevard is incredibly beautiful both inside and out. It’s stunning decor, mouthwatering steaks and prime rib, superior wine list, and delicious appetizers are sure to be a local favourite. The contemporary-yet-comfortable restaurant and bar combines natural stone with warm wood tones, clean architectural lines and a spacious atmosphere that feels cozy and private. And the spectacular rooftop terrace will be a wonderful place to enjoy one of the Kegs’ popular cocktails.

“The Keg is an excellent choice for romantic evenings, a night out with friends, or a business dinner,” says Kevin Major. “Our bar is great for cocktails with colleagues and a fun spot to get together with friends. Although our menu features a variety of options for many tastes, our famous Keg steaks will keep guests coming back again and again.” In addition to mouthwatering steaks, The Keg also serves tender chicken, succulent seafood, slow-roasted prime rib and other entrees, as well as delicious appetizers, crisp salads and legendary desserts.

As part of The Keg tradition, the Pointe Claire Keg Steakhouse + Bar prepared for their opening day by fundraising for a local charity through The Keg Spirit Foundation. Guests were invited to enjoy The Keg’s legendary steaks and prime rib in exchange for a $5.00 donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Island. Thanks to the generosity of the community, $10,000.00 was raised to support the mentoring of youth in our community. At a special celebration, a cheque was presented to Francesca Corso, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Island.

“We are thrilled to support the work that Big Brothers Big Sisters does in our communities,” said Hans Stefanson, Operations Director for The Kegs in Quebec. “As The Keg has been a mentor to so many young people throughout its more than 40 year history, our giving is focused on those organizations that mirror this mentorship. The mentorship that Big Brothers Big Sisters provides to so many youth in our community is a natural fit with our mandate.”

“We are so grateful for the generous support of the Pointe Claire Keg, The Keg Spirit Foundation, the staff and The Keg guests. Every dollar raised helps us to support the mentoring relationship between a volunteer and young person, to make new matches and to help a child reach his or her full potential,” says Francesca Corso, Executive Director Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Island.

The Pointe Claire Keg Steakhouse + Bar will be open for dinner 7 nights a week. To contact the restaurant directly, call (514) 630-0202.
