Montreal en fetes is canceling the presentation of Emile Bilodeau’s show scheduled for Square Dorchester and Radio Radio show’s scheduled for Square Victoria on the evening of December 31.
With the tightening of health measures announced yesterday by the government and the state of sanitary emergency declared by the mayor, the NPO is canceling the two shows so as not to provoke gatherings likely to spread the virus.
“With the dazzling community transmission rates of the past few days and following the announcement by Mayor Valerie Plante who declared a state of emergency in Montreal, it is unthinkable for us to move forward with both evenings of December 31 which were to bring together a few thousand people. Canceling the New Year’s festivities is the only responsible thing to do in order to protect our customers and our teams” said Dimitri Soudas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Montreal en fetes.
At the same time, Montreal en fetes is suspending the animation of the three public squares that it has transformed for the holidays in the heart of Old Montreal and downtown.
Vieux-Montreal, Montreal Centre-Ville, SODEC, Brasseurs de Montreal, Les spiritueux Ungava and Bite Size Entertainment.
