Quebecers just won two major jackpots. The $5,000,000 Classic jackpot in the July 4 Lotto 6/49 draw was won in Montréal, whereas the $25,000,000 Lotto Max jackpot was won in Laval in the July 10 draw with a Formule groupe ticket. Each share is worth $2,500,000!
$5,000,000 winner: a new house, and a more beautiful life for himself… and his cat!
Montréal resident Pierre Draws took home the $5,000,000 Classic jackpot in the July 4 Lotto 6/49 draw.
- When he checked his ticket on the Loto-Québec app, Draws initially thought that he’d won $5,000, before realizing there were “too many zeros.” He’d actually won $5,000,000. “Five million doesn’t change you, except… it’s quite something!” he said at Loto-Québec’s head office.
- Draws admitted he was tingling with excitement when he received his cheque. He was still emotional when he summarized his mood with these simple words: “I feel like I’m on cloud nine!”
- His first plan is to purchase his first home—a dream he never thought would come true. “I think I deserve a house, a more beautiful life for me and my cat!” said the winner in his sixties, who retired last year.
- The winning ticket was purchased at the Boni-Soir – Marché Bachir convenience store located at 7322 Avenue Baldwin in Anjou. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $50,000.
