Stanley Cup ticket prices – There is a great deal of excitement and anticipation for many Montreal Canadiens fans to catch the home team play their first Stanley Cup Finals match on home ice since 1993. And if you plan to catch the excitement of games 3 and/or 4 inside the Bell Centre, be prepared to pay very high prices for those much sought after and treasured tickets. How high? Consider the sky high category.
In fact, if you consider buying tickets online, get ready to empty your bank account or RRSP plan. According to an item on the website www.ballecourbe.ca, a certain website is selling a pair of tickets that exceed the $100,000 (CA) price range.
Usually, Canadiens season ticket holders who have had that status for over 20 years can get first crack at tickets for games 3 and 4, with prices ranging between $600 and $1,500 each.
However, the ticket purchasing website StubHub is offering a pair of tickets for Game 3, in section 112 of the Red Centre area, for a total of $63, 246 (CA), service charges and provincial sales tax included. And if the series gets to Game 6, the prices get outrageously higher.
StubHub is offering a pair of tickets in the same section for an astronomical total of $119,468 (CA), of course including the charges and taxes.
If that seems too budget-busting for you, then consider flying south to Tampa Bay and catch a game or two on their home ice, the Amalie Arena, where ticket prices are quite reasonable, to say the least. Ticketmaster is offering a pair of tickets for $800 (US), plus a service charge of at least $75. And if the series goes to a seventh and deciding game, www.SeatGeek.com is offering tickets for at least $1000 (US).
And if all of this is way too much strain for your wallet, there’ a third option. You can watch the Canadiens-Lightning finals in the comfort of your own home, live on either RDS, SportsNet or CBC.
