The Martinique Gourmande culinary and solidarity festival is pleased to announce the full list of participating establishments for its 17th edition, running from September 10 to 22 under the theme “Back to our roots”. The flavours of the Isle of Flowers will be making their long journey to Québec, where they will be featured on the menus of some 40 participating establishments in Montréal, Québec City and throughout the province. Offering a “signature menu”, a cocktail or a dessert featuring Martinique flavours, participating restaurants and bars invite the public to discover this Caribbean destination around delectable dishes. Martinique Gourmande Festival’s famous Créole Market at the Grand Quay of the Port of Montréal Pavillon will also be back on September 14 and 15. Four guest chefs from Martinique will cooking up the best of the island’s gastronomy, which holds a special place in the hearts of Québecers, in a friendly and festive atmosphere.

For 12 days, the sun of Martinique will be shining throughout the province! This year, Festival Martinique Gourmande is expanding its program to reach a wider audience, venturing off the beaten path. A festive, must-attend event in Montréal: the Créole Market!
On September 14 and 15, Montréal will be buzzing with the festive spirit of the West Indies! Join us for Martinique Gourmande’s Créole Market, Saturday, September 14, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, September 15, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Grand Quay of the Port of Montréal Pavillon. Free admission for the whole family! More than twenty booths will be on site, featuring tastings of emblematic specialties concocted by four of the island’s most renowned chefs, a mixology competition, fruit carving demonstration, a dominoes tournament, C’est moi le chef workshops for the little ones, zouk lessons, initiation to bèlè and biguine, and a party in sync with the rhythm of the Martinique carnival.

A mixology competition for professionals
On Sunday September 15, the Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme invites the public to attend a friendly mixology competition between professional bartenders. The official cocktail of the Martinique Gourmande 2024 edition will be selected at the Marché Créole at the Grand Quay of the Port of Montréal. Bartenders and mixologists can sign up today for a chance to win a trip to Martinique! The 8 shortlisted finalists will be judged by leading industry specialists, who will rate their performance.
