The City of Dorval received some backlash after people learned that Dorval was charging for picnic table reservations. The system on the website had a fee that was being charged for rentals. However, the City of Dorval will still be moving forward to with the reservation system on the weekends however, there will be no fee.

The first plan was to charge $10 for residents and $25 for non-residents to reserve the table for an allotted time frame.
A city official stated that this plan was to deter people from using the tables for the whole day.
The City of Dorval has issued a statement that the picnic table reservation system will only be valid during the weekend and for two of their busiest parks. They also said if the tables where not being reserved anyone good use it.

After listening to its citizens over the past few days, the City of Dorval will finally make several adjustments to the picnic table reservation policy at Pine Beach and Walters parks.
The procedure that should be approved at the May 17 council meeting will state, among other things, that:
- Only Dorval residents can reserve a picnic table.
- There will be no reservation fees.
- Tables can be reserved from Monday to Thursday at noon, only for the following weekend.
- Table reservations will be displayed on site, in order to inform citizens who will still be allowed to use the tables outside of the indicated reserved hours.
A reminder that reservations will only be possible during weekends and that they do not apply to other parks. The first reservations will be open for the June 5-6 weekend.
