Igloo New Year’s EVE – This holiday season, get ready for an unforgettable winter celebration as Multicolore, the creative force behind Igloofest, and Aire Commune join forces to light up Old Montréal! From December 29 to 31, the all-new SOUS ZÉRO Festival will take over Place Jacques-Cartier, offering a flurry of festive activities. And on December 31, the iconic Igloo New Year’s Eve party presented by Vidéotron, will ring in the new year with style and energy. Montrealers, prepare to bid farewell to 2024 and welcome 2025 with a one-of-a-kind experience that only Old Montréal can offer!
Igloo New Year’s Eve: the Event of the Season
On December 31, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., Multicolore invites you to a spectacular, free event presented by Vidéotronat the Quai Jacques-Cartier in the Old Port of Montréal — Igloofest’s iconic site.
This unforgettable evening will unite Montrealers for a magical New Year’s celebration, featuring a stunning blend of music, visuals, and pyrotechnics created in collaboration with Moment Factory, PixMob, and GFA PYRO. As the clock ticks down 2024’s final moments, prepare for a dazzling display of sound, lights, and fireworks that will electrify the sky from the river to the Biosphere at Parc Jean-Drapeau, and across the city’s landmarks like the Montréal Ferris Wheel. With Igloofest’s signature energy, from games and dancing to its beloved yetis, this open-air celebration is set to make the first seconds of 2025 truly unforgettable.

SOUS ZÉRO: Winter Fun for All Ages
Ahead of New Year’s Eve, SOUS ZÉRO, Aire commune’s new winter music festival, takes place at Place Jacques-Cartier from December 29 to 31. SOUS ZÉRO offers an immersive and festive experience for young and old, with fun and cultural activities offered day and night:
- Screenings of music-themed short films, in collaboration with the Festival Courts d’un soir;
- Giant tic-tac-toe and mölkky games;
- Readings of Montréal folk tales performed by Keenan Poloncsak.
Following the exciting announcements of Frikiton and Aswell on December 29 and 30, SOUS ZÉRO is cranking up the heat with a fantastic addition to the musical lineup: Rau_Ze! On December 30, this dynamic singer-songwriter duo, made up of Rose Perron and Félix Paul, will take the stage and bring their irresistible mix of R&B, neo-soul, jazz, funk, and hip-hop to the festival. Radio-Canada’s Révélation 2024-2025 and grand winner of Francouvertes 2022, Rau_Ze’s critically acclaimed debut album Virer nos vies won R&B/Soul Album of the Year at the Gala de l’ADISQ 2024.
SOUS ZÉRO: A Quick Look at the Program
- Sunday, December 29: Latin evening with Chloe Lallouz (DJ set), the Frikiton collective (reggaeton), and Ed Winter (musical performance).
- Monday, December 30: Afro evening with MS. BABY (DJ set), Rau_Ze (jazz, hip-hop, funk), and Aswell (rap folk).
- Tuesday, December 31: Throwback evening with Taima (R&B/hip-hop DJ set), New Year’s Eve show and DJ Kelly (90s-2000s classics until 2 a.m.).
