On Saturday, September 6th, join Montréal la plus heureuse to get your dose of happiness even though the holidays are over!
Drumroll! The very first edition of the Manifestation de joie de la rentrée (literally “Back to school/work joy demonstration”) will be held on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, from 1pm to 3pm on Plateau-Mont-Royal, delighting all generations.

Get ready to be amazed
A joyful walk around the neighbourhood will take place from parc Baldwin to parc De Lorimier, at the sound of the fanfare Jarry marching band. We will march through parks, streets and alleys, spreading smiles as we pass by in a festive atmosphere.
Artistic performances will be at the heart of this thrilling event, with live music, dance improvisation, an intimate puppet show, an inspiring tale and acrobatics.
Let the show begin: the festive atmosphere brought together by fanfare Jarry will definitely lift up your spirits. From traditional songs from the Balkans to original pieces composed by Charles Duquette, the band’s founder, get ready for some fun! The sound of clarinets, trumpets, saxophones, euphoniums, tuba and percussion instruments will blow you away and the energy of the musicians will no doubt spread to the happy crowd gathered around them!

Dance as a storytelling tool: the Lebanese interpreter and choreographer Chanel Cheiban channels the multiple experiences that inspire her to tell a story with her body and to deliver her messages through live art. On September 6th, she will improvise based on the music played by fanfare Jarry.
An interactive puppet: with her poetic portable structure, Jeanne Lauzier celebrates the right to joy, to a shared public space and to a slower pace of life.
Stories worth spreading: Mireya Bayancela will recount us a tale entitled “The Frog’s Dream” based on a story by Argentinian writer Javier Villafane. This sweet tale delivers a powerful message for all generations, inviting the audience to embrace every part of their self.

About Montréal la plus heureuse

Montréal la plus heureuse is a non-profit organization founded in 2018. Its mission? To help Montreal shine on the local and international stage by spreading joy across cultures and generations throughout a variety of activities (festivals, workshops, meet-ups) and by involving Montrealers in initiatives beneficial to the city.
Their happiness ambassadors play a crucial role: they love our mission and are always here to help make sure our activities are a success. Our main events are two festivals, Montreal’s Happiness Festival (le Festival du bonheur de Montréal), since 2019, and, since 2022, Novembre en couleur, a series of joy demonstrations to chase away all the greyness associated with November.
