Canadiens / Canadian Tire scrimmage – The Montreal Canadiens announced today that more than 15,000 tickets have already been sold for their annual Canadiens / Canadian Tire scrimmage Red vs White scrimmage, which occurs this Sunday, Sept. 16, at 1 p.m. at the Bell Centre. Doors for the event will open at 11 a.m. with players on hand to greet fans at the entrances through 11:15, and every fan in attendance will receive a free trio (sandwich, bag of chips, and bottle of water or soft drink) upon entry.

This annual game, which was introduced in 2013, has served as the public’s first opportunity to see their Canadiens in action each season. New faces scheduled to participate on Sunday include Joel Armia, Max Domi, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Nick Suzuki and Tomas Tatar. The club plays its first preseason game Monday at the Bell Centre against the New Jersey Devils.

Tickets for the Red vs. White Scrimmage are available for $5 apiece at www.canadiens.com/redwhite, and are offered as a pair at cash registers in participating Canadian Tire stores while supplies last.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Canadian Tire BLEU BLANC BOUGE in Action program, an initiative developed by the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation and supported by Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities (Jumpstart) that enables kids from families in financial need to be more active through skating lessons.
