Toronto Tempo, Bennedict Mathurin and Canadian Tire present TEMPO LIVE: 3×3 Tryout
As women’s basketball continues to experience unprecedented growth across Canada, Montreal will play host to a unique initiative focused on the next generation of athletes.
The Mathurin Family Foundation, founded by the family of NBA star Bennedict Mathurin, has partnered with Toronto Tempo and Canadian Tire to present TEMPO LIVE: 3×3 Tryout, an event that will bring together nearly 100 female basketball players aged 12 to 14 from across the Greater Montreal Area.

The athletes will take part in skill evaluations, competitive drills, and game play led by female coaches and mentors from the local basketball community. At the conclusion of the tryout, 40 players will be selected to advance to a 3×3 showcase tournament at the Bell Centre as part of an official Toronto Tempo Activation Day.
More than a basketball event, TEMPO LIVE is designed to create meaningful opportunities for young female athletes, provide access to mentorship, and celebrate the continued growth of women’s sports in Canada.
At a time when basketball participation is reaching new heights and Canadian athletes such as Bennedict Mathurin are inspiring a new generation, this event shines a spotlight on the future of the game and the young athletes helping shape it.
Interview opportunities are available with representatives from the Mathurin Family Foundation, coaches, mentors, organizers, and participating athletes.
