There is a pilot project underway in the East-end of Montreal where a self-driving bus is shuttling passengers to seven stops. The self driving bus shuttles passengers from the Olympic Stadium to the Maissonneuve Market.

The small red bus is equipped with motion sensors, GPS and navigational program. The self-driving bus has a maximum speed of 15 km/h. There is a driver with a control pad if the bus needs assistance.
This is the first self-driving vehicle allowed on the streets of Montreal. Last year the bus was allowed to transport people on the grounds of the Olympic Stadium. The test project is to see how the self-driving bus will react to Montreal drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. There are still some kinks that need to be worked out as the bus has problems dealing with parked cars.
The little red bus has the capacity of 12 people however there are only six seats.
The rides for the self-driving bus at the moment are free and there are seven drops on the route. The pilot project runs until August 4, 2019.
