Montreal Black Friday Protest

Some young Montrealers have decided that they are now protesting the American holiday Black Friday.

Yesterday 100’s of protestors congregated on Ste Catherine Street blocking traffic, chanting to stop Black Friday in Montreal.

Montreal Protestors glue hands to store windows in protest of Black Friday

Over a dozen minors were arrested as they glued their hands to store windows on Ste-Catherine and Peel. The Montreal fire department were called in to remove the protestors glued hands from shop keepers windows.

The Montreal Police charged the minors for mischief and were later released. Montreal prosecutors may add additional charges.

A recent survey was released from Retail Canada saying that Black Friday has become the largest shopping day in Canada just like our neighbour the United States. Canadians spend over $30 billion on Black Friday.
