AstraZeneca vaccine suspended in Quebec for those under 55

Is AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine safe

Quebec have announced today that they are suspending the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to Quebecers under the age of 55 years old.

There is an investigation ongoing to see if the vaccine is linked to the very small amount of blood clots that have been reported in other countries.

AstraZeneca vaccine suspended

At present over 111,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 have been administered in Quebec. To date there has been no cases reported of blood clots in Canada.

At present only 60 years and older are being allowed to be vaccinated in Quebec however the Quebec government does not know how many healthcare workers were administered the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine under the age of 55.
