It’s been a decade since the Hampstead native Sugar Sammy launched his triumphant bilingual “You’re Gonna Rire” run of shows and tour that totaled 420 performances, sold over 372,000 tickets, and played to sold out crowds not only in Montreal, but across the province as well with his “En Francais, svp!” shows from 2012 to 2016. Add to that his sold out tours in Canada, the U.S. and France, and Sugar Sammy has become an international sensation. And when he isn’t touring, Sammy can be seen regularly as a judge on the French version of America’s Got Talent, which is called La France a un incroyable talent.
In 2023, Sugar Sammy will return to the bilingual shows that launched his superstardom with “You’re Gonna Rire 2”, as he will perform a total of 34 shows in Montreal, Magog, Gatineau and Quebec City this upcoming May, June and July. This time, he will make his new You’re Gonna Rire home at the Centre Pierre Peladeau at l’UQAM in downtown Montreal.
During the run of his new bilingual show, Sammy will present brand new material that he formulated over a series of secret shows and surprise appearances, which will certainly touch upon the many flashpoint political and social themes that will certainly cause a lot of laughs and conversations.
Prior to this “Summer of Sammy”, he will embark upon a nine-city tour of Canada through this upcoming January and February with his new English language show.
