Imagine living in Montreal and taking the train to Toronto where you work everyday. Travel time less than 40 minutes each way. Well it might just be possible with this Hyperloop high speed train. Would Montreal would become a suburb of Toronto.
Hyperloop high speed train Montreal to Toronto – Canadian government is currently reviewing the idea of a high speed Hyoerloop which will allow much faster travel between Montreal and Toronto.
Promoters are engineering the design to provide travellers with a travel mode featuring very high speeds, fixed guideways above and below ground, and capsule-like vehicles called pods, propelled within a network of looped sealed partial-vacuum tubes, reads the Request for Proposal (RFP).
Although still a concept, It looks like the government is one step closer to getting a high-speed train that would allow for much faster travel between cities in Canada and possibly the US , the latter not confirmed.
The Hyperloop track that will be built will take passengers between Montreal and Toronto in under an hour.
Transport Canada is commissioning the study of the Hyperloop, so it can be better informed on the technical, operational, economic, safety, and regulatory aspects of the Hyperloop and understand its construction requirements and commercial feasibility.
How fast can a hyperloop high speed train go?
It’s an important achievement for Virgin Hyperloop, which was founded in 2014 on the premise of making Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk’s vision of a futuristic transportation system of magnetically levitating pods traveling through nearly airless tubes at speeds of up to 760 mph (1,223 km/h) a reality.
What is hyperloop?
The Hyperloop could potentially convey people or objects at airline or hypersonic speeds while being energy efficient compared with existing high-speed rail systems. This, if implemented, may reduce travel times compared to train and airplane travel over distances of under approximately 1,500 kilometres (930 miles).
