Ogilvy’s Christmas window display – Last March, Ogilvy’s announced that their magical Christmas window display with the familiar and beloved mechanical jumping frogs, donkeys, monkeys and teddy bears of the Mill Forest and Enchanted Village – would be moving to a new home at the McCord Museum. They were merging their operations with Holt Renfrew and because there was a concern about space – they decided to donate the collection to the museum, along with $50,000, as their expertise would help them care for the toys and put together a new exhibit for at least five years.
As promised, the McCord Museum has continued the tradition and kept the magic alive with their mechanical holiday window display of ‘The Mill in the Forest’ just outside the museum at 690 Sherbrooke St. West. ‘The Enchanted Village’ part of the display can be found inside the museum where children age 12 and under are admitted free of charge ($20 admission for 13 years and older). Children will receive a complimentary treasure hunt activity sheet and backpack containing interactive materials for ‘The Adventure at the Museum’, both available at the Admissions Desk. There will be a Story Time each day until December 14th at 11:00am (in French) and 3:30pm (in English).
Christmas carols will be sung Saturdays at 11:00am until December 15th. And I Musici de Montreal will performs 60-minute concerts of winter and Christmas music on December 9th and 16th at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (Free for children under 12 and museum members). *For more information or how you can help make the exhibit permanent with their Stuffed Animals Adoption Campaign, go to their website at: musee-mccord.qc.ca
