MISS WONG – The first Asian Brasserie of its kind (photos)

MISS WONG  – Get ready to be transported to a bustling and mysterious market plucked from the streets of Hong Kong –this new pan-Asian restaurant, in Laval’s Centropolis complex (1780 Avenue Pierre-Peladeau, Laval), will satisfy every Asian-fusion craving. Known as the old Moomba supper club location, Lucky Belly Group co-founder Dan Pham and Foodtastic lead designer Jacques Gaspo transformed this nostalgic hotspot into a 10, 000 sq. ft. dream.

As soon as customers walk in they definitely won’t feel like they’re in Montreal or let alone Laval anymore. This majestic location is splashed with neon lights and Chinese lanterns, making people feel like they’ve taken a trip to some exotic Asian location. This one-stop venue is perfect for dinner, drinks, good music and fun vibes. It’s your next go-to 5-à-7, date or girl’s night spot.

The interior of the restaurant seats 300, and the outside terrace (heated in winter and fall) seats 130, perfect for keeping warm and staying out during those colder months. When stepping into Miss Wong you are definitely immersed in its beauty and uniqueness. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and the decor is one words cannot describe. Miss Wong’s aesthetic was inspired by Dan Pham’s trip to San Francisco and Vancouver. Its enchanting decor is divided into various rooms and spaces that give the restaurant its market-place feel. In some corners guests can find neon street signs while in others, guests will find lounge-seating areas perfect for groups.

The diverse menu, based on a Chinese-American food concept, is created by renown Chef Phong Thach of Red Tiger, Kamehameha, and Sogen. If you’ve tried any of these locations, you’ll know that this Chef means business. The menu includes staples dishes such as: beef carpaccio with yuzu sauce, stir shimiji, house chip with shaved parmesan; gyro pekin duck with pickles; Chinese five spices baby back ribs; wonton dumplings with creamy chili peanut sauce, to name but a few. Getting hungry yet?

Visiting this new Asian brasserie is a must. Step out of your comfort zone and let yourself go in this beautiful panoramic location. You won’t regret ordering the peanut butter dumplings, and their cocktail list is set to revive those taste buds!
