Joël Teasdale – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin, announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry level contract (2018-19 to 2020-21) with forward Joël Teasdale.
Teasdale, 19, ranked third on the team in goals (32) and points (65) in 65 games with the QMJHL’s Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in 2017-18. Twelve of his goals were scored on the powerplay, two while shorthanded and six were game-winning goals. The 5’11’’ and 203 lbs forward helped Blainville- Boisbriand reach the QMJHL’s Finals, registering 21 points (8 goals, 13 assists) in 21 playoff contests. Teasdale was the Frank-J.-Selke Trophy recipient, awarded annually to the QMJHL’s Sportsman of the Year.
The Repentigny, Quebec native played 178 career games with the Armada since making his junior debut in 2015-16. Teasdale registered 139 points (61 goals, 78 assists) and 49 penalty minutes, while displaying a +36 differential. He added 39 points (16-23-39) in 51 career playoff contests.
Teasdale is currently taking part in the Canadiens’ training camp. He also participated in the latest Canadiens’ development camp in June 2018.
