According to the Montreal Police a 35 year-old-man was pronounced dead at hospital after apparently slipping on ice accumulation early New Years Day.
Police received a call and responded to 26th Avenue and Provost Street in Lachine. Police officials said the 35-year-old man was suffering from a cardiac arrest on arrival and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The man’s death is now being investigated as “suspicious” according to the Montreal Police. At first police thought is was an accidental death due to a large patch of ice found near the unconscious victim. After further investigation due to the nature of the man’s injuries the Montreal police have reopened the case and have not ruled out foul play.
Police are asking for help from the public if anyone witnessed the fall.
