Max Pacioretty traded – Montreal Canadiens general manager, Marc Bergevin, announced tonight that the Club has acquired forwards Tomas Tatar and Nick Suzuki, and Columbus’ second round pick in 2019 (previously acquired) from the Vegas Golden Knights, in return for Max Pacioretty.

Tatar, 27, appeared in 82 games with the Detroit Red Wings and the Golden Knights in 2017-18, recording 34 points (20 goals, 14 assists). Tatar has played 427 regular season NHL games with Detroit and Vegas, contributing 228 points (119 goals, 109 assists). He has added nine points (4 goals, 5 assists) in 25 playoff contests. A native of Ilava, Slovakia, Tatar was selected in the second round, 60th overall by Detroit at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Suzuki, 19, appeared in 64 games with the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack in 2017-18. He ranked fourth overall in the league in scoring with 100 points (42 goals, 58 assists). He also registered 12 points in 11 playoff contests (3-9-12). The forward also played in one AHL playoff game with Chicago. A native of London, Ontario, Suzuki was selected in the first round, 13th overall by Vegas at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Pacioretty, 29, appeared in 64 games with the Canadiens in 2017-18. He recorded 37 points (17 goals, 20 assists). He has played 626 regular season NHL games with the Canadiens, contributing 448 points (226 goals, 222 assists). He has added 19 points (10 goals, 9 assists) in 38 playoff contests. A native of New Canaan, Connecticut, Max Pacioretty was selected in the first round, 22nd overall by the Canadiens at the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He was named the 29th captain in Canadiens history on September 18, 2015.
