Montreal weather warning – This winter has certainly been easy so far but the last few days of this decade are going to be a little messy with the weather.
Montreal is expected to receive 20 cm – 25 cm over the nest 24 hours, starting off with freezing rain.
A Snowfall Warning is issued, depending on region, when 10 to 15 cm or more of snow falls within 12 hours or less.
Alerts for Metro-Montreal and Laval

Freezing rain warning in effect for:
- Châteauguay – La Prairie area
- Laval area
- Longueuil – Varennes area
- Montreal Island area
Up to 5 millimetres of freezing precipitation are expected over these areas today in a mix of ice pellets and freezing rain. Precipitation will change to snow during the afternoon and will continue until Tuesday evening.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
