For the elderly, immunocompromised, and others, going to the grocery store has now become a life-threatening task forcing many to rely on grocery store delivery services. Due to overwhelming requests, many grocery stores are experiencing significant delays in deliveries. Seniors are particularly vulnerable as ordering online may not be a possibility for those that do not have access to the Intenet or know how to place an online order.
Various community organizations have stepped up to help people in need, including the West Island’s Hear Quebec, in conjunction with the organization Trash Talk. The two organizations are offering a grocery delivery program for West Island residents in need (more details here). Those that have to shop for groceries should go once per week to avoid infecting both themselves and store employees.
