Montreal and Toronto Mayors bet on Habs vs Leafs series

The Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs will face each other tomorrow night in Toronto for the first round in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The two teams last faced each other in the 1979 playoffs. Get ready; Habs vs Leafs series Thursday night 7:30 P.M.

The Mayors of both cities have placed a wager that the loser of the series will have to host the winning teams flag at their City Hall. Plus each Mayor will be donating $500 to their local team’s charity, MLSE Foundation for Toronto and the Montreal Children’s Foundation for Montreal. Plus the losing mayor will donate another $500 to the winning team’s charity.

Also the losing city’s mayor will have to send local food and beer from their city to the winning mayor’s office. Toronto Mayor Tory said he is looking forward to enjoying some Montreal Smoke Meat Sandwishes when the Leafs win.

Montreal Mayor Plante says she will enjoy a peameal bacon sandwich when the Habs win.
