Negative COVID-19 test mandatory to enter Canada

When entering Canada from the United States or abroad ALL passengers will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within the last 72 hours (3 days). Air travellers need a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test before they are allowed to board any plane headed towards Canada.

The exact date of execution of this new restriction has not yet been confirmed by the federal and provincial governments.

This new regulation does not replace the federal governments mandatory 14 day quarantine period for travellers entering Canada.

Additional Canadian Border officers will also be added to all airports to reinforce the new mandatory negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

At this time the federal government has still issued an advisory against non-essential travelling outside of Canada.
