Travellers entering Canada require mandatory hotel stay

The government of Canada have tighten the screws on travellers entering Canada once again. Travellers entering Canada as of February 22, 2021 will be required to quarantine in a hotel for up to 14 days at the travellers expense.

The announcement will be made today at 11:30 A.M. from the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The Prime Minister also announced earlier this week that travellers entering Canada through the land border will soon need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test before being allowed to enter Canada. Border officers will have the right to refuse entry of travellers also travellers could face a fine of up to $3,000.

A worker at the Pierre Elliot Trudeau airport who asked to remain anonymous told the Mtltimes, “the airport is more quiet than it first was back in March 2020 when the initial lockdown was enforced.”
