MONTREAL, June 8 2025 – Two athletes. Two journeys. One shared Montreal pride. The Mathurin Family Foundation and the Maizon Dort Foundation are proud to invite you to an unprecedented event: the official watch parties for Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs featuring a historic matchup between two rising stars of the NBA… both born in Montreal.

For the first time in history, two Montreal-born players face off at the highest level of professional basketball — the NBA Playoffs. Bennedict Mathurin, a rising star and driving force on his team, the Indiana Pacers stands out for his versatility, resilience, and clutch performances. Oklahoma City Thunder star, Luguentz Dort, known for his relentless defense and unmatched intensity, has become a key team leader and a role model of excellence for young athletes.

These two talents, from the neighbourhoods of Montréal-Nord and Ahuntsic, embody hope, perseverance, and attainable greatness, inspiring a new generation of Quebec athletes.

Just getting you up to speed. Mathurin’s Pacers narrowly defeated Dort’s Thunder 111-110 to take a 1-0 series lead.

A COLLABORATION BETWEEN TWO FOUNDATIONS TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Driven by their commitment to community, the Mathurin Family Foundation and the Maizon Dort Foundation are joining forces to turn this historic series into a community celebration, while raising funds for youth, educational, and social programs.
