As Quebec prepares for its second lockdown since the COVID-19 Pandemic we have managed to compile a list of the new rules and what is open and closed. The Quebec government has announced that the number of cases of COVID-19 are hovering around 1,800 per day.
Here is a list of services business closed since mandatory lockdown starting December 17, 2020:
- Elementary and High schools have been closed since December 17 and will remain closed until January 11, 2021 (Which could change).
- Non-essential store can remain open until December 25th, but must remain closed until January 11, 2021.
- Daycares will remain open – However, the Quebec Premier urges parents to keep their children at home.
- a maximum of eight people are allowed to meet in a public space however, they must keep at least two metres away from each other and wear face masks. The social gathering is not allowed on a private property or inside.
- Grocery store open
- Pharmacies open
- Hardware store open
- Pet stores open
- Big box stores are allowed to open however they can only sell essential goods like food and pharmacy products.
- SAQ open
- Cannabis stores open
- Dentists, optometrists and other health services open
- Hair salons, spas manicurists will have to close December 25, 2020
- Places of worship are allowed open as long as they follow the rules and have a maximum of 25 people at once
The Quebec government would also like to remind people that if you work in the private or public sector and your presence is not necessary at work, the government is making it mandatory to work at home as of December 17th – January 11, 2021. The premier says if you have problems with your boss or company about this to call the workplace health and safety board.
Can i visit another family bubble?
Yes, if you are a single parent you can visit and also welcome another family into your home however it must be from the same family.
Can I go skiing over the lockdown?
You still can go skiing if you follow the rules. The government is trying to discourage travelling from zone to zone. Their will be no road blocks.
Can I call a repairman during the lockdown?
Yes! You may call a repairman; plumber, electrician etc. during the lockdown
