boy dies at Bromont ski hill

Ski patrollers at Bromont received a call around 1:30 p.m. to help a skier who took a serious fall. The 14 year old boy was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Bromont police said that this was the first time the 14 year old was skiing and he was wearing a helmet. They believe the boy lost control and fell extremely hard on rocky terrain.

Bromont Ski Hill posted on Facebook Wednesday evening, ” A loss of control was the origin of the fatal fall for the 14 year old boy. The mountain is in mourning.”

The accident occurred on the Varennes portion of the Bromont Ski Hill. This part of the run is classed as green circle, which means easy/beginner.
